In 2016 Trump and Clinton were the only two to be the last one standing for the election. The media was helpful enough to raise awareness by giving out background information about the candidates. The issue was important enough to be brought to the public because they were both running for president, a very important role in the government. The media did go too far in their research and coverage by exposing Trump and Clinton of their wrong doings. The media exposed Clinton for deleting thousands of emails and Trump for not paying his taxes. Neither of them influenced any of the other three branches. They both influenced the citizens by making them promises, how they can make changes and "Make America Great Again." They both influenced public policy on how they would change policies and make them better or go against the current ones. The responsibilities of the media are to let other citizens know whats going on in the world and to give them information about the current events that are happening.
